Ruth Atkins
Ruth Frazier Atkins, 82, of Culpeper, formerly of Sperryville, died on Saturday, Feb. 25 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Rappahannock County on Jan. 7. 1913.
She was an antique dealer and a member of Sperryville United Methodist Church.
Her parents were the late Amos F.lliott Frazier and Effie Atkins Frazier.
Her husband was the late Hugh (Dick) Atkins.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Sue Atkins Cooke of Culpeper; two sons, Robert E. Atkins of New London, Pa. and Hugh Smith Atkins of My rtle Beach, S.C.; four grandchildren, Kevin Atkins, Wendy Hill, Shawn Atkins and Michael Atkins and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Clore Funeral Home with the Rev. Merlin Shorb and the Rev. Paul Thompson officiating.
Interment was in Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Frank Coffey, Les Wood, Robert Martin, Elmer Atkins, Leo Caton, Strother Brown, Carson Johnson, Charles Dodson and James Leake.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department, Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad, or Sperryville United Methodist Church.
Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of the arrangements.
