Russell Tanner Sr.
Russell Smith Tanner Sr., 93, of Novum, died on Monday, Feb. 26 at his residence.
He was born June 21, 1902, in Madison to the late Delaware M. Tanner and Hattie Bernice Deal Tanner.
He was a member of Novum Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Hazel Virginia of Stevenson, Anna Mae Lawson of Winchester and Barbara Jean Tanner Coffey of Woodville and two sons, Charles D. Tanner of Amissville and Edward Wayne Tanner of Reva.
He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Tanner was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Pearl Dodson Tanner; three children, Betty Ann Tanner, Russell Smith Tanner, Jr. and Wallace Daniel Tanner and 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 29 at Found and Sons Chapel with the Rev. John Gustavson and Rev. Harold Eaton officiating.
Interment followed in the Novum Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Bowen, .Ollie Jenkins, Jimmie Dodson, Richard Funk, Wallace Carroll Haines, David Coffey, Robert Earl Boyd and Michael Bowen, II.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Reva Fire and Rescue, General Delivery, Reva, Va. 22735.

Gladys Jenkins
Gladys Pearl Nicholson Jenkins, 84, of Etlan, died on Thursday, Feb. 29 at her residence.
She was born May 25, 1911, in Nethers.
Mrs. Jenkins was a homemaker and a member of Nethers Mill Lighthouse Tabernacle.
