“Although it is an old play, it conveys the almost revolutionary message that people are basically good. You leave the theatre feeling hopeful about the human race. That may be a bit out of fashion these days, but that’s what this play is all about.

“I wanted to do an old-fashioned play. I think people enjoy old-fashioned plays, particularly if its about themselves.”
