These nine etchings together show Tom Spande’s versatility, his determination and his ambition as an artist. I think we learn much about how his artistic mind works and the possibilities of his artistic vision. In this show, he abandons color, nature and easy beauty. He invites us to pretend that we are looking at harsh urban realities and to see in'them subtleties we have not imagined.
