His trip to state competition started as the Bull Run District level where he placed first and junior Nancie Gallegos placed second. In l that competition Jim Clark also placed first in extemporaneous speakI ing on domestic issues, but he was j unable to continue to regional compej tition because it conflicted with the Westinghouse Science Talent Search. In regional competition Tano placed second and Nancie was fourth. Each contestant draws from a
