employment in 1988, Mr. Stewart’s lawyer, Mr. Clark, produced a copy of a paycheck which Mr. Stewart had received from the mother’s company in May, 1989. Mr. Clark was trying to show that even though the offenses were alleged to have occurred in 1988, the mother still employed Mr. Stewart in 1989.
Major Ed Streapy, who is now retired from the Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office, testified that the girl had written and signed a statement alleging that Mr. Stewart had sexually molested her. He admitted that she had asked how much Mr. Stewart would have to pay.
