Tom Pendergast said that approach could take more than a year. He said he had moved from Fairfax where dumpsters had been removed and that led to trash being dumped on his road. “Closing the dumpsters before you have a viable alternative, we will have exactly the same thing,” he said.
Joe Hall said the dumpsters should be kept open until an alternative is found. He said since the decision to close them was announced more large appliances had been left at the Huntly dumpster site.
Garfield Burke said people bringing their trash from outside the county was the major problem.
Supervisor Chairman Hubert Gilkey said over the past weekend the Sheriffs Office had written several tickets for out-of-county dumping.'.
Mr. Massie said if it is the consensus of the board to keep the dumpsters open until the central site is developed, he would go along with it, but stationing deputies at the dumpster sites two days a week will not take care of the problems there. •Mr.

Jackson District representative Ron Frazier said he believes closing the dumpsters down “is right. I don’t think it’s a big deal to travel a few extra miles to dump trash.”
