Scott Updike and Mary Beth Williams, 4-H teen members, were among 60 teens who participated in the 1996 Youth Leadership Conference sponsored by the Virginia Council of Farmer Cooperatives on March 29-31 at Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria.
This statewide conference teaches youth about the cooperative way of business.
Scott reported, “We were divided into teams to set up a business. The financial part was set up on the computer using spreadsheets the same as a bookkeeper for a business would do.”
