Republican Primary
The Voter Registrar’s office is accepting absentee ballot applications and allowing absentee voting for the June 11 Republican primary to select a nominee to run for the U.S. Senate. Incumbent Sen. John Warner is being challenged by Jim Miller.
The office is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. In addition the office will be open Saturday, June 1, and Saturday, June 8, for absentee voting’

Sidewalk Work
VDOT announced that Bravos Concrete Inc. of McLean has contracted “to construct, repair or replace sidewalks, curb and gutter” in the towns of Washington and Flint Hill. The contractor will begin work in early June and has 75 days to complete the work under the $98,640 contract for work on the two towns and five in Fauquier County.
