Congressman Frank R. Wolf, R10th District, will sponsor a conference on increased drug use among young people from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 15 at Chantilly High School in Fairfax.
“I had thought and believed we were winning the war on drugs,” Rep. Wolf said. “Drug use among teenagers had dropped in the late 1980s and early part of this decade. However, as I started to look closely at this issue, I learned that drug use among children and teenagers has skyrocketed over the last several years.
“Drugs continue to exact a toll of epidemic proportion on the social, economic and moral faces of America. . . . Contrary to many assumptions, illicit drug use is not limited to large cities and urban areas.
