In the Major League the Rappahannock National Bank’s Red Sox took both parts of a double head' er from Dr. Snyder’s Pirates by scores of 12-10 and 9-8.
Michael O’Neill was the winning pitcher for the Red Sox in the first game. He helped his cause by driving in three runs on three hits. Michael Fairbrother had four hits and three more runs batted in. For the Pirates Brandon Holloway scored four runs batted in on a double and a home run.
In the second game Michael Fairbrother was the winning pitcher!. He and Michael O’Neill each had two hits.
The second week of competition for the Rappahannock Athletic Association on May 4 brought plenty of scoring.
In the T-ball division, the Rappahannock Lions Club Lions defeated Hackley’s Lil Orioles 22-8. For the winning team Ben Hackney, Rebecca Tupper, Simon Berry and Katie Burke had three hits each. For the Lil’ Orioles Zack Keiter, Ryan Moore, Rachel Patterson, Clayton McClothlin, Michael Brietenback and Josh Makela had two hits each.
In the other game Ginger Hill Angus’s Lil’ Yankees defeated Ray T. Cannon’s Lil’ Cubs 18-8. Timmie Clanagan, Andrew Kohler, Alexander Neill-Dore and Will Miller had three hits each. Jamie Hartman added two hits. For the Cubs, Stefan Bragg, Anthony Dennis and Emily Zacherle had three hits each, and Liam Wallace and Alyse Gentry Jiad two each.
In the Minor League division, the Memory Makers’ Yankees narrowly defeated David and Donna Sheffield’s Indians 15-14.
In the second game of their double header the Indians defeated thfe Yankees 16-12.
