Sperryville Carnival Underway
Members of the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department are currently underway with their annual carnival. The event will continue through Saturday evening, June 1. Special rates will apply for rides this evening, Wednesday; a parade will be held Thursday beginning at 7 a.m. and the prizes will be awarded Saturday evening.
Prizes will include the grand prize of S500, first, second and third prizes of $100 each will be awarded to a lucky winner. All members of the community and county residents are urged to support the fire department in their endeavors. There will be food, games and fun for all.
International Dinner Planned
The Rappahannock Family Community Educators Clubs will hold their annual International Dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 3‘at Amissville Baptist Church. Iva Lam and,Virginia Settle will present a program on Germany. Come and bring a German covered dish.
4-H Overnight Camp
4-H Overnight Camp for children ages 9-13 will be held the week of July 7-11 at die Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center. This includes educational classes, recreational activities, swimming, and a program and campfire each evening. The camp is staffed by trained teen counselors, adults, Extension staff, lifeguards, nurse, and summer staff at the 4-H .Center.
The fee for camp is $110 which Covers meals, lodging, supples for classes, and a camp T-shirt. Scholarships are available for children who need financial assistance. For information call 675-3619.
