diseased and dying trees and shrubs throughout the cemetery and reinstalling a gate at the entry to cut down on loitering. These improvements will decrease the long term maintenance costs and make the current mowing and weeding process easier, since the fence line is badly overgrown and impossible to mow.
This is an ambitious program and will put a real strain on the cemetery funds, which now produce enough money to keep the grass and weeds down with little extra to spare. We are asking the public for their help in raising the money for the materials and labor to carry out this work.
There are also several people who were in the process of purchasing lots through Gibson Wharton who should contact me at 937-7416 to discuss th<£ status of those sales so that we can get their paperwork in order. There will be no further lot sales for the foreseeable future until the survey of existing conditions is complete, which should be mid 1997.
