Rookie Baseball Camp

To accommodate children who will be attending the 4-H camp. The baseball camp has been moved up to Wednesday, June 19, through Sunday, June 23. On Wednesday through Friday, the camp will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. On Saturday, the camp will begin at 3 p.m. and end at 6 p.m. This is to accommodate the RAA participants. Oh Sunday, the camp will begin at 2 p.m. and end at 4 p.m. with the closing ceremony from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The price has been reduced to $85, with children bringing their own lunch instead of the camp providing lunch. The camp will be limited to 27 children with five half price scholarships and one full (free) scholarship available. That is five children may attend for $42.50. Camp instructors will be Donn Hackney, a former semi-pro baseball player, who was offered contracts with the Baltimore Orioles and Pittsburgh Pirates as a university student. Boys and girls ages 5 through 9 are welcome, regardless of their skill level. Beginners will be assisted with the basics; more experienced players will be polished up. Proceeds from the camp will benefit the RCHS Athletic Department.

Spring Fundraiser Planned

The WBRB Ministers and Deacons Union Scholarship Committee will be holding its Arts and Crafts Spring Fundraiser at the Sperryville Emporium, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. For registration and information, contact L. Aylor 987-8064, orN. Roberts 399-9815.

Hitt Family Dinner

Anyone interested in learning about the history of the Hitt family is invited to a dinner to be held Friday, July 19 at the Holiday Inn (Aberdeen Bam) in Culpeper. A private room is being reserved where those attending can order from the menu and pay individually. Genealogists will gather at 5:30 p.m. to exchange information. A German dance will be demonstrated at 7 p.m. The meal will be at 7:30 p.m. A. video will be shown after the meal. To make reservations contact Mrs. H.W. Parenting Course Set

A free Parenting Course will begin at 6:30 p.m. on June 11 at 6:30 p.m. on June 11 at the Extension Office. The course is a seven week session and is sponsored by the Rappahannock Family Preservation Funds. Please register by calling 675-3313.
