Ms. Plamondon and PaLC president Melissa Klein of Centreville initiated the program which was recently approved by Gov. George Allen and will provide funding for cat and dog spay/neuter programs at shelters all over the state.
The plates cost $25 for each plain Animal Friendly plate and $35 for each personalized plate. For each plate sold, $15 goes to the jurisdiction in which the vehicle is registered and is administered by the Department of Motor Vehicles. The funds will be disbursed annually to the shelters.
