and said they thought it was a worthy project. They also found it was one no one else had wanted to take on.
The Virginia Department of Highways was their next stop. J.A. Aylor of the department told them he would help them anyway he could.
They came up with a basic design for the signs and decided on a size, three by five feet and made of wood. They will be painted and include the county and state seals.
They asked local artist Maggi Rogers to help with the design and she agreed. Presently they are looking for merchants and residents to support them in their efforts. They hope to have all the materials donated as well as obtain help in making the finished product.
They plan to contact the Board of Zoning Appears and to solicit help from anyone interested in their project. People who would like to help the class with the planning, materials, construction or erection of the signs should contact Mr. Vickers at RCHS.
