Basic Freedom

The “divine right” of kings to rule as they pleased was challenged in 1215 when Englishmen forced King John to sign the Magna Carta. This great 'document guaranteed certain rights to the people, such as the right to own property, freedom from burdensome and increasing taxes, and trail for a crime only with the testimony of credible witnesses.
Today, in America, we are gradually losing even these basic freedoms as Congressmen betray their oath of office and ignore the Constitution.
Frank Wolf, Representative of the 10th District of Virginia, who is an honorable man with good intentions, has been asked to sign an “Affirmation ? of Citizens’ Rights” that he will oppose and vote against any legislation that denies any of the rights wrung from the King of England over 700 years ago.
When Congressman Wolf signs this “Affirmation”, the writer will wholeheartedly commend him, both in person and by letter to this newspaper.
