Their proposal is that signs be put up — on U.S. 522 at the North and South end of the county, and on Rt. 211 East and West in the county, Route 231 was out of the question because it is designated a scenic byway. They had originally thought to get landowners permission to place the signs on private property, they found out, however, that they need permits to place the signs and the signs must be placed on commercially zoned property. This greatly limited the areas available to them as possible sign locations and made the job more difficult.
“The class had to come up with a group assignment and wanted an obtainable goal,” said Mr. Vickers.
