Rachel Pompieri
Rachel Dorothy Frazier — Pompieri of College Park, Md. died Friday, March 7 at Washington Adventist Hospital.
She was bom on March 11, 1932, in Washington, Va„ daughter of the late Charles W. Frazier and Lona B. Baker — Frazier.
Family will receive friends and family on Wednesday, March 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Borgwardt Funeral Home in Beltsville, Md.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 13 at 11 a.m. at the College Park Weslyan Church with the Rev. James H. Mills, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow at the Sperryville Cemetery in Sperryville.
Rachel grew up in the Sperryville area and moved to Washington, D.C. in the late 40’s. Rachel and Joe married in 1950 and settled in College Park to raise their family.
Rachel enjoyed gardening, bowling, country music, handicrafts, her pets, and especially her children and grandchildren. Even though she lived in the city she was a country girl at heart and always enjoyed returning to Virginia to visit family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Pompieri; her sister, Ruth Cropp and three brothers, Charles Frazier, John Frazier and William Frazier.
She is survived by one sister, Fannie Pullen and one brother, Thomas Frazier of Amissville; one son, Patrick J. Pompieri; two daughters, Joan Skipper and Lynn Best and three grandchildren, David A. Skipper, Candy L.R. Best and Randall L.R. Best, all of College Park and many loving relatives.
