Afterschool Club Forming
A new 4-H Afterschool Cloverbud Club is forming. The first meeting will be at the Extension Office at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30 ages 5-8 years old. For more information call the Extension Office at 675-3619.
Evening Service Slated
An evening service will be held on Tuesday, April 29 at Thornton’s Gap Primitive Baptist Church beginning at 6:30 p.m. Elder Franklin Oresta from Bluefield, West Virginia will be the guest speaker. “Everyone is cordially invited to join us in hearing from this very able minister,” said a church spokesperson.
Playgroup Forming

Movie at The Theatre
The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) will present the movie “Cold Comfort Farm” at The Theatre on Gay Street, Friday, April 25 at 8 p.m. Running Time: 95 minutes. Adults $5, children under 12 years $3.
Bloodmobile Coming
“Please set aside a short amount of time on Wednesday, May 28 to come to the Washington Fire Hall and donate blood,” said an organizer. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be there from 3 to 7 p.m., sponsored by the Family and Community Educators. Come and give the gift of life!
SummerQuest Applications Available
“Mountains on the Horizon—A Decade of Challenges” is the theme for the 1997 Regional Governor’s School, SummerQuest! Classes in art, math, music, science, social science, and writing permit students in fifth, sixth and seventh grades to study topics in greater depth than is possible during the regular school year. Fieldtrips and guest presenters will offer students unique opportunities for learning.
This program, sponsored jointly by Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, and Rappahannock Counties and the Virginia Department of Education will be held at Rappahannock County High School, July 28 to August 8, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. There is no cost for this school.
