The Agricultural & Forestal Advisory Committee met prior to the Commission meeting to discuss the request and approved it for submission to the Commission. The Newlins will build a home on a one acre lot and the remaining 24 acres will be kept in land use. There was a question of back taxes due on the property and County Administrator John McCarthy said that the only back taxes due would be on the one acre lot since the rest would be kept in land use, and that they wouldn’t add up to a large amount since it is only the one acre on which taxes will be due.
