shows, the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas, and many clubs in the Washington, D.C. area. Those include Blues Alley, the Cellar Door, Anton’s 1201 Club and as an entertainer in many major hotels in the area. She also sang at the Ft. Myer Officer’s Club in Arlington for four years.

While at WMAL, Ms. Henderson appeared regularly at events in' Washington, D.C., including hosting the July 4 festivities on the grounds of the Washington monument, and has sung with bands such as the Army Blues, Airmen of Note, the Air Force Symphony, the Starlight Orchestra and the Navy Commodores. She has recently been named an honorary lifetime member of the U.S. Navy Band.

Ms. Henderson’s repertoire of songs shows a versatility that comes from so many years of belting out those tunes. She can be doing big band songs one minute and then switch to “Respect” by Aretha Franklin or “I Feel Good” by James Brown or Patsy Cline’s “Crazy.”
