The Town of Front Royal is accepting applications for a fulltime POLICE OFFICER vacancy. This position is responsible for the enforcement of local and state laws and ordinances; investigating traffic incidents; and performing other related police duties. Applicants must be a minimum of 21 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. .An excellent driving record is required. COMPUTER LITERACY/PROFICIENCY IS REQUIRED. THE ABILITY TO PROVIDE TRAINING TO OTHER OFTICERS AND ST.AFT IS PREFERRED. THE DEPARTMENT IS CURRENTLY USINC MS OFFICE PROFESSIONAL FOR WINDOWS 3.1, V.4.3 FOR GENERAL, ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE WORK AND IS BECINNINC TIIF. INSTAI.IATION OF "lAP-TOPS” IN PATROL CRUISERS. THE DEPARTMENT HAS COMPLETED TESTING OF THE “CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION SYSTEM,” RELEASE 7.3 (SEPT. 1994) SOFTWARE PACKACE IS A1SO PREFERRED. THE STATEMANDATED “INCIDENT BASED REPORTING SYSTEM" IS CURRENTLY IN USE. ONLY THOSE APPUCAim MEETING THE COMPUTER LITERACY/ PROFICIENCY REXK1REMENT NEED APPLY. Applicants must pass minimum physical and mental agility tests. The successful applicant must then pass a preemployment, post-offer physical examination and drug screening, paid by the Town. Pay range is S24.190-S33.842 per year, depending on qualifications, with excellent benefits provided.
