Carolina Wrens are also singing and do so right through the day whereas Cardinals and Robins do their best at dawn followed by a repeat at dusk. The wren’s song is easier to define for it has three distinct syllables, io-ree-per, ioree-per, or scen-ner-y, sce-ner-y. Once, years ago, I jotted down phonetically every Carolina Wren song I heard.
