VICA Students

Deserve Praise

To the Editor: v

On April 12 I had the opportunity to attend the VICA State competitions in Roanoke Virginia, in which several students from Rappahannock High School competed. There were many competitions ranging from Needleworks to Fire Fighting Skills. I would just like to let those parents who were not able to attend this event know how proud they should be of these students. Often times we do not take the time to praise our kids enough and we often worry about how they behave themselves once they are out of our sight. I have to let you know how impressed I was at how well these young people conducted themselves and how serious they were about doing their best to represent their school. I spent most of my time with the students who participated in the Fire Fighting Competitions.

I was truly touched and very impressed with this group of young men. There were two teams that participated in this event all who attend Piedmont Technical to receive t|jeir training. Among the Rappahannock there was a couple of students from Culpeper. Some of the students have been profiled in the Rappahannock News over the past few months. These two teams took the Gold and Silver medals in this competition, competing
