A.V.F.D. Carnival Set
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual Firemen’s Carnival June 25 through June 28. The parade will be held on Thursday, June 26. Those interested in entering should contact J.B. Carter at 937-4218.
Applications are available from Helen Williams at the Rappahannock County School Board Office, 987-8773 and must be received by May 2. Enrollment is competitive.
Miss Rappahannock Pageant Set
The annual Miss Rappahannock Pageant sponsored by the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad will be held at 7 p.m. on April 26 at Rappahannock County High School. The pageant will be open to all single female residents of Rappahannock, ages 2-19 and boys, ages 2-6. There will be a Mother/Daughter and Sisters’ Category. Sponsor fee for each contestant will be $20. Pageant admission $4 adults and $3 children. Contact Debbie at 987-3354 or Stacey at 987-8636 for more information.
Fodderstack Race Set
The 19th annual Fodderstack 10-K Race will be held in Rappahannock County on Saturday, April 26 beginning at 10 a.m. Registration will be $17 no later than 9:30 a.m. the morning of the race. Fees will be payable at the starting point. For more information, contact 675-3342 during normal business hours.
Benefit Auction Planned
The annual Rappahannock Lions Club benefit auction will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 6 p.m. at the Washington Fire Hall. Anyone wishing to donate items should contact Roger Andrews, 987-8974 or Hal McDermott, 675-1028.
