Charlene Fuhrman-Schultz has a full-time professional career as a Land Use Planner, but her passion is Chinese brush painting which began back in the mid ‘80s. She continues to study with painting master professor I-Hsiung Ju in Lexington. Charlene is dedicated to traditional Chinese Art and toured China with many artists in 1993 to study various artists and their styles. Her devotion to the art form has sparked further interest in studying the Chinese language and calligraphy. She has had paintings on exhibit at the Davis Street Gallery/Camaleer, Culpeper; in Fairfax at the Fairfax Council of Arts events, as well as in China and Toronto, Canada at the annual Sumi-e Exhibition in 1996. In 1995 she received the prestigious National Capital Chapter Award of the Sumi-e Society of America.
