Survey goo I idea At the joint meeting of the Town ( iuncil and the Town Planning Commission a propos i for a data collection survey was broached. Council member Ray Gooch suggested the proposed survey which would cost about $4,000. The idea is an excellent one. Such a survey would allow for all town residents to make their desires known and taken into account for upcoming decisions by the town governing bodies. Interaction, as town planner Milton Herd pointed out, is healthy, but a survey will include everyone, even those who don’t attend meetings or get involved. It would give those same governing bodies an accurate idea as to where to begin and how to decide what to do in terms of long-range planning. Most council members seem to feel it would be dollars well spent. Whether the survey is handled by the council or independently, “to ensure objectivity and privacy” as was suggested, it would be worthwhile for all concerned.
