DESTINY'S ROLE
It is a somewhat romantic notion to think that our lives are guided by destiny; however, is it responsible of us to assume that events are preordained and that we have no real influence over what direction we will travel? To invoke the notion of destiny is to relieve ourselves of accountability for our actions, which implies that we are helpless in the face of life's onslaught of events. Baron Lytton took a dim view of such an attitude when he wrote: "Destiny is but a phrase of the weak human heart - the dark apology for every error. The strong and the virtuous admit no destiny. On earth conscience guides; in heaven God watches. And destiny is but the phantom we invoke to silence the one and dethrone the other." It is a mark of one's character to assume responsibility for one's actions.
When one looks back upon one’s life, whether there was an actual "plan" or not, we can often read a story rich with the meaning we have created by the many small steps we have taken toward our goals. At the MOSER FUNERAL HOME, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton you’ll find we care about our clients. For answers to your questions, call us at 347-3431.
