Washington’s Tbwn Council has a full agenda for its meeting Sept. 9, with passage of the proposed $72,660 budget and a public hearing to consider amendments to the historic district ordinance. In the ongoing review and revision of the county’s subdivision ordinance at last Wednesday’s work session, the Rappahannock Planning Commission looked at tougher standards aimed at protecting ground-water and controlling residential development. Rappahannock County School Superintendent Dr. David Gangel said Tuesday evening that a construction crew working in the high school gymnasium Monday afternoon had uncovered an unknown dust which they feared was asbestos. Garry Traynham has been appointed as the central district ranger in Shenandoah National Park, park superintendent Ronald N. Wrye announced. Mr. TVaynhlam transfers from Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, with his wife Audrey and their children, Matthew and Lee.
