The Rappahannock County Family & Community Educators’ (Homemakers Club) Achievement Program was held Nov. 3 at Amissville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Florence Tidman, 90 year old me^beTi'gave the devotional emphasizing the importance of a smile or kind word to those we meet daily to help them and us along life’s way.
The program Personal Safety was given by an officer of the Rappahannock County Sheriff’s Department. His information was well received and time was allowed for questions from the audience.
Mrs. Iva Lam, president of the Amissville club recognized Mrs. Alice P. Pullen as Homemaker of the Year and pinned her with a FCE pin. Mrs. Pullen has been a member of Homemakers Club for over 50 years.
Mrs. Mary Priest, secretary of the County Council pinned a corsage on Mrs. Pullen and announced that the scholarship given to a graduating senior each year by this group will be named, The Alice P. Pullen Scholarship.
