Hampton Projects
The Hampton District projects in the current plan are: (Numbers refer to priority established county-wide by the board of supervisors.)
No. 16: Route 622, Rock Mills Road, from Route 626 to .5 miles east Route 626 (length .5 miles). Reconstruct, widen and pave a gravel road. Daily traffic count 132. Improvements requested by a few property owners in the area. No engineering activity ongoing. Have not contacted property owners concerning right-of-way acquisition. Road has required a great deal of maintenance in the past due to flooding and washouts. VDOT will make effort to minimize impact on trees, etc. Improvements designed to stabilize roadbed. Projected start date April 2001, projected completion, July 2001.
No. 17: Route 626, Mount Salem Avenue in the Town of Washington, Va. From Route T1101, Gay Street, to Business U.S. 211/522, Main Street, (length .05 miles). Widen existing pavement and install drain. Daily traffic count 419.
