Meeting date change

The 4-H Rappahannock Small Animal Club meeting date has been changed to this Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Rappahannock County Extension Office at 2 p.m. The program will be presented by wildlife rehabilitator Amo Merritt and Penny Weaver. If you are a person with a disability and desire any assistive devices, services or other accommodations to participate in any of these activities, please call 675-3619 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, prior to the event.

Santa and Mrs. Claus to appear

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at Attic Treasures on U.S. 211 near Sperryville from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13. All area children are invited to come and visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Ragged Mountain activities

The Ragged Mountain Resource Center, located at Oldway Art Center in Sperryville, has the following activities scheduled:

On Dec. 13 the final second Saturday series hike for 1997 will take place. Participants should meet at Mountainside Market on U.S. 211 west of Sperryville by 9:30 a.m. and bring food for lunch and layered clothing according to the weather of the day. The group will return by mid-afternoon. Hike destination is Mary’s Rock. Following the day hike will be a Moonlight Hike of Old Rag. Participants will meet at Mountainside Market by 3:30 p.m. or at the upper parking lot of Old Rag in Nethers by 4 p.m. There is no charge for the hikes but contributions are encouraged. Dinner, banquet planned

The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department will have their annual Community dinner and Awards banquet at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the fire hall. The fire department will provide ham and turkey. Everyone else is asked to bring a covered dish.

Santa in Viewtown

Santa Claus will be visiting Viewtown General Store Friday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. Amissville Fire Department will be bringing him! Come visit with Santa and enjoy cookies and punch with your friends, fror more information call 937-3249.

Citrus fruit pickup set

Those individuals ordering citrus fruit from the Rappahannock Band Boosters should note that pickup is scheduled for Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 from 2 to 4:45 p.m. and on Dec. 13 from 7 to 11:45 a.m. at the Rappahannock Farmers Coop.
