Photo Courtesy of Hazel Zinn-Day The 4-H Junior Garden Club members will have the happiest birds in Rappahannock County this holiday season. Under the volunteer leadership of Ms. Carolyn Emerick the 4-Her’s made treats from stringing cranberries and popcorn on a thin wire and shaping them into hearts. Also making “grub tubs” from orange halfs filled with peanut butter, birdseed and popcorn and covering large pine cones with peanut butter and birdseed. A recycling project using plastic liter bottles and dowel rods as bird feeders were also made. These 4-Her’s will have a beautiful tree in their yard to watch and identify wild birds during the holiday season.
