Citizens National Bank, Flint Hill branch, will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Saturday, Dec. 23 and on Christmas Day. The Assembly of God Church, Sperryville, will present a Christmas pageant on Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. The Christmas Home Lighting and Decorating Contest, annually sponsored by the Town Council in Washington, will be judged this year on Christmas Eve between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. The Beech Spring Regular Baptist Church in Sperryville will present a Christmas play entitled “The Christmas Stranger” on Dec. 23 at 7:30 p.m. The Amissville Ruritan Club is sponsoring the annual home lighting contest this Christmas season. The contest will encompass the area within a three mile radius of Amissville.

The Trail Riders of Rappahannock are corralling a full range of sopranos, altos, tenors and basses for this week’s Christmas Caroling Ride through the Big Woods. Singing in the saddle will surely warm the spirit if not the toes of those who leave with them at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17.
