Discussion around the
planned paving of Route 621 has brought many important point to light. It is apparent that the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors care deeply about the well-being of Rappahannock County and that they uphold the philosophy of keeping it “scenic.” But there is considerable difference of opinion between the board and some of their constituents.
An inspired, concerned group of people who live on Route 621, as well as a large < majority of the people with whom I have spoken, disagree with paving the last mile of 621. The board has been asked to put Route 621 back on the agenda for reconsideration and have politely decided against it.
They argue that they don’t have time to put something back on the agenda every time someone disagrees. They feel that they have heard from their constituents and are prepared to make a decision. The problem is that many of their constituents don’t feel as though they have been heard.
