I have been following the
clarification of the six year plan and the recent opposition to the paving of Route 621 with great interest. Galen McBride’s articles have been revealing and informative. The letters you have received from county residents concerning this issue has been compelling.
After a thorough reading of McBride’s article I was left with several impressions, some of which made me think about the usefulness of writing at all. Does the “universe of opinion” have any bearing? Is it just opinion that has been so strongly and well expressed in the recent weeks of Letters to the Editor concerning Yancey Road?
And how does my supervisor support the paving of all secondary roads despite language in the Comprehensive Plan that allows for saving the rustic character of some of our county’s roads? Aren’t most of us hoping that this comprehensive plan not only has meaning, but can save us from losing what we know in Rappahannock?
