Our own Dorothy and Graham Hackley were married on Nov. 12, 1947, raised a family, worked side by side for over 40 years in Hackley’s Store, and have “seldom” had a cross word! They are amazingly compatible and genuinely enjoy each other’s company. We held off on our anniversary wishes so family members could surprise them with a visit. God bless you both as you head toward your next 50 years!
Congratulations to Brandy and Gary Breeden, Jr. who celebrated their first anniversary Dec. 7.
You are invited to attend the Rappahannock High School and 'Elementary School bands’ annual concert being held Friday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. at the high school.
Once again the Amissville Baptist Church, Amissville Methodist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, and the Amissville Ruritan Club are joining forces for the Community Christmas Food Drive. There will be collection boxes for canned and boxed food items at the three churches as well as Hackley’s Store, Mayhugh’s Store, and LomBar-Dy’s in Amissville.
If you would like to make a cash donation, there will be a collection iar at Hackley’s Store or you may contact Dorothy Hackley (937-4822), Nancy Nicholas (937-4470), or Charlie Priest (937-4072) before Dec. 20. Donations may be mailed to Dorothy Hackley, P.O. Box 75, Amissville, Va. 20106.
Last year this effort helped needy families with generous food baskets and presented many senior citizens and shutins with fruit baskets and poinsettias.
