will be held at the Steak House on LF.S. 522 near Culpeper. The public dinner served in Castleton Sunday was well attended and proceeds benefited the Castleton Community Fire Department. The Castleton Ladies Auxiliary donated a door prize, a ceramic Christmas tree made by Woodrow Bennett of Scrabble, which was awarded to Brook Woodward of Castleton.

The movie “Dragnet” will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12 and 13, at 7:30 p.m. each evening. The Middle Street Gallery in Washington is displaying fine arts and crafts for holiday gifts. Ann Kolack, pastry chef at the Village Cafe, will be offering a class in the fun art of gingerbread house making Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Child Care and Learning Center. The Bed and Breakfast Association of Rappahannock County is having an open house and tour on Dec. 13. All seven B&B’s will be open. Fourteen Future Business Leader of America students attended the National Fall Leadership Conference held Friday, Nov. 20 through Sunday, Nov. 22 in Washington, D.C. at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Piedmont’s participants in the educational workshops included Eugene Hodge, Ralna Trout, Tommy Dodson, Travis Wiley, Lisa Carpenter, Apollo Cotton, Neil Dowell, Vicky Gordon, Cindy McFarland, Francis Powell, Crystal Stallard, Pamela Sykes, Robin Shanks, J.J. Jubilee and advisers Nancy Smith, Jim McCormick and Nancy Pettengill.
