One of the first items of business was a motion to request the representative to the Virginia legislature to raise the compensation for the board’s members to an annual cap of $3500. They presently receive $600 annually and said they would like to increase the amount to $1200.
The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors receives an annual compensation of $1200 and Ible said he hoped to achieve parity with them. In citing their low compensation in comparison to other counties, Rappahannock County is the county with the lowest listed annual compensation cap. Warren County’s is $1500, Culpeper’s is $3500, Fauquier’s is $1500, and Fairfax’s is highest in the state at $8,000.
