Council member Louise Van Dort said that the town’s original water system plan included these recommendations as part of its third phase. She stated that the present “storage facility is usually filled only twothirds on any given day. If something happens on a Saturday night, there will be some unhappy shower-takers on Monday morning.” The reservoir is never completely full due to pressure feedback and the time lapse while it is being used.
Mayor Stewart Willis questioned whether a 50,000 of a 100,000 gallon reserve tank was needed. The reservoir holds less than an hour’s water for fire fighting purposes.
