The general leave for the' RCHS personnel showed good results for November, said Gangel, however, RCES. showed high absenteeism espe-; dally on Fridays and Mondays.’ The overall November atten-! dance for personnel at RCHS; was 93.7 percent and at RCES was 94.56 percent. Student enrollment ended in November with 1066, one student less than on Oct. 1. RCES student attendance was 93.4 percent and RCHS attendance was 94.2 percent.
The finance committee consisting of board members Dennis Wingfield and Brian Lee will meet with Gangel this week, although no time or date has yet been announced.
Gangel talked about the possibility of bidding out bank services to help employees defray the cost of bank fees charged by Rappahannock National Bank when deposits are made automatically into their checking accounts.
The low bids were accepted for gasoline, diesel fuel and propane to Quarles Petroleum, and for coal to Monger Coal and Oil, Inc. Invitations to bid for plumbing and electrical, HVAC, custodial supplies and pest control were .advertised and are due Dec. 29 at 2 p.m. - In a letter dated Dec. 10, architectural services were invited to bid on design and construction supervision for restroom renovation in RCES and RCHS and roof renovation at RCHS. Bids are due by Jan. 9 at 2 p.m.
A request for proposals to improve the energy efficiency in Rappahannock schools will be issued Jan.5 and bids will be received until Jan.26. Areas of possible consideration include fluorescent lighting, dropped ceilings, electrical wiring, asbestos abatement, and options for geothermal heating, conversion from coal fired boiler to individual heat/cooling electrical units and replacement windows.
