Rappahannock Senior Citizens Club that she assisted in organizing. It is an advocacy group that tries to find ways to improve the quality of life for the senior citizens and is given considerable support by the Baptist Men’s Fellowship.
Kiger, who grew up in Rappahannock, said both of her parents’ families owned land that is now within the boundaries of the Shenandoah National Park. She is able to trace her genealogy through cemetery tombstones in the park that go back to 1795, she said.
