Tammy Frances Atkins of Sperryville and Dennis Michael Shenk of Luray were married on Nov. 29.
The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Kirby Shenk and took place at Thornton’s Gap Regular Baptist Church in Sperryville.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin L. Atkins of Sperryville. She was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.
The groom is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Kirby Shenk of Luray.
The bride wore a traditional white wedding grown of slipper satin which featured a modified Sabrina neckline and tapered, fitted sleeves of hand beaded chantilly lace with a satin collar and cuffs. The fitted bodice and barque waist was molded in matching beaded lace. The full, ball gown skirt was embellished in beaded chantilly lace trim and schiffli embroidered lace medallions flowing into a semicathedral train at the back. She wore a veil of white roses and pearls with embroidered sequence and lace rimmed around the edges. She carried a Bible and cascading bouquet of red poinsettias and white roses, accented with strings of pearls, greenery, lights, and red and white ribbons. ' The maid of honor was her sister. Robin Atkins of Sperryville who wore a red - satin formal length gown with a red lace overlay over the bodice, a straight skirt with satin roses and a sash in the back. She carried d bouquet of red poinsettias and white carnations accented with strings of pearls and red and white ribbons. She wore red roses in her hair.
Bridesmaids were Betty Crawford of Flint Hill, Joyce Wharton of Sperryville, Lynette Shenk and Brenda Sacco, both of Luray.
They all wore red satin formal length gowns with a scooped neckline trimmed in white lace, short sleeves trimmed in white lace and layers of white lace around the bottom with four white roses pickups, a full skirt with a red satin bow in the back.
