The white sculptured unity candle was surrounded by white poinsettias and greenery that stood between - two small sculptured candles which the parents of the bride and groom lit.
Pianist Judy Alther presented prelude selections during the seating of the guest, the lighting of the unity candles and the seating of the mothers. '}
Soloist was Benita Adkins, she sang “I Swear”, “Keeper of the Stars” “The Wedding Prayer” and “God Gave You To Me”.
Judy Atkins of Sperryville., prepared all decorations used in the church. All bouquets were made by Lynette Shenk of Luray. Courtney Mauro, of Amissville was the guest book attendant. Heather Gore of Sperryville was the program attendant.
A reception following the ceremony was held at Rappahannock County Elementary School. The food was catered and served by David Huff of The Country Cafe. Josephine Alther of Sperryville and Pat Jenkins of Washington also helped serve the food.
Frances Pullen and Judy Scroggins of Washington served the beverages.
The cake was a tiered white wedding cake with a fountain and bridges with figurine bridesmaids and groomsmen.
The cake was decorated with real flowers and made by Lynette Shenk.
Barbara Gore of Sperryville and Joyce Griffith of Luray cut the cake. Betty Atkins #f Elkwood and Becky Tuel of Culpeper served the cake.
Mrs. Shenk is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School^and is employed by Page Health Cdijfe Associates in Luray. Mr. Shenk is a graduate of Luray high school and is employed by Wallace in Luray.
After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple returned -to their new home in Luray.
