“Making Waves” to
be presented
The Artist-In-Residency Project for RCES, “Making Waves - A Diversity of Forms, Functions and Feelings will be presented to the community on Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m. and Friday, March 3 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The theme of this project "Making Waves” was chosen to inspire different ideas, perspectives and approaches in creating music, visual art, dance, theater and performance.
The artists presenting the program are Rose Marie Prins (visual artist), Paul Reisler (composer and musician) and Sharon Wyrrick (dance, drama, performance).
All of the second, third and fourth graders and many of the fifth, sixth and seventh graders have worked with one or more of the artists during the residency which began last September.
RCES teachers Joy Rollins, music and Harriette Rosenblatt, art, are the project coordinators.
BZA affirms Pet
Tailor’s application
' At its February meeting, the Rappahannock County Board of Zoning appeals affirmed the ■ Planning Commission’s approval of The Pet Tailor’s application, and agreed to increase the number of permitted dogs at the kennel from 10 to 30. The Special Use Permit amendment for the kennel, owned and operated by Lawrence and Kathy Nolan, : requires that all animals be kept indoors after 9 p.m.
The BZA also moved to revert to their old meeting date, the fourth Wednesday of each month, beginning with the March meeting.
