Mr Tieckelmann attacks ■me personally when he says: !“To leave any child in this county with the impression that (what was going on in Columbine is going on here), is cruel.” I have not made any such statement to any child in this county. In the first place, a letter to the editor is not a statement to children. More importantly, I stated in my letter that “I exercised my ‘choice’ for my children by moving to Rappahannock County where I knew that the public schools provided a better environment than those in and near Washington, D.C.”
I also said “I believe that our school system is one of the best public school systems in the area.” I take no “offense” to Mr. Tieckelmann’s accusation because I believe that debate on this important issue is more important than my personal feelings.
