• Congratulations to RCES Fourth Grader Molly McCarthy for being the winner of the WVPT-TV Young Environmentalist Award. WVPT is the public television station in Harrisonburg. Molly competed with students from throughout the WVPT viewing area and walked away with top honors.
All winners were honored at an awards reception held at WVPT on Wednesday, Feb. 23 where Ed Clark, president of The Wildlife Center of Virginia (and graduate of our own RCHS) was the keynote speaker.
This was the second year in a row that Rappahannock has won first place in this contest. Last year’s winner was Ben Rupchis. Coincidentally, both students were in Mrs.
