I ; Saturday evening at 6 p.m., the doors open at the Washington School on Mt. Salem Avenue for the fifth annual fall auction and party. This gala event is now the only fund raising event of the year for the Child Care and Learning Center, an event that takes the year to plan, Coordinate and execute. This huge undertaking is spearheaded by the Friends of CCLC, a committee of volunteers headed by Kay Miller, i As the doors open, the public will enter the newly renovated foyer of the Washington School that serves as the front entrance for the School Age Club of CCLC. The entrance fee of $15 will help to cover the

Guests will be invited to browse through the Tag Sale Room, where items are for immediate sale at tagged prices; sign-up for any of 30 £lus items and services for bid §t the silent auction tables surrounding the gym; and get a close look at the impressing array of furniture and quality items displayed upon the $tage that will be auctioned off beginning at 7. ! CCLC will take checks, <}redit cards and, of course, cash. Being a charity auction, ihe purchase prices which exceed the actual value of individual items obtained (which the Board fervently hopes for) are tax deductible for the purchaser.
A Preview Night will be held at the Washington School on Friday night from 6 until 8. Only live auction items will be available for preview. CCLC is accepting absentee bids on tbat evening for individuals who will not be able to attend the Saturday night auction. Nothing will be sold in advance!
All funds from this auction will go toward the Scholarship Fund for the preschool and school age programs and the Renovation fund for the Washington School. CCLC awards approximately $30,000 in scholarships funded by the auction and the Annual Fund Campaign.
Renovations are also ongoing for the Washington School facility that currently houses the School Age Club. To date, over $157,000 has been spent in renovations funded by private community donors.
