DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzes and diagnoses problems of routine and medium difficulty with hardware/software regarding overall systems use, functioning and -complex problems concerning LAN applications, and host systems connectivity. Provides guidance statewide level to Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE), Licensing and Regional DSS offices, DSS local agencies and Community Colleges. Arranges for additional technical help to resolve more complex and critical problems to facilitate rapid restoration of automation-related systems or when necessary to facilitate rapid restoration of capabilities when part or all of a system goes down. Troubleshoots and solves routine systems problems and complex LAN and LAN based application problems directly. Consults with central office Division of Information Systems of data processing operations, microcomputers, mainframe computer hardware configurations, data communications networks, control languages;, and network monitoring software packages; demonstrated ability to analyze and diagnose computer network problems by applying logical and timely troubleshooting techniques; ability to develop and maintain clear and concise problem and procedural documentation; and ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing with both technical and non-technical personnel. Special Requirements: Frequent overnight travel and frequent overtime.
